In order to keep the progress of 2016 Master and PhD students to carry out their research and thesis writing, Faculty of Education organized a Graduate Thesis Seminar on June 26, 2017. At the beginning, Dr. Li Shuying, the Academic Registrar of the University and the Dean of FED, explored an in-depth talk with participated students, focusing on several topics such as the importance of topic selection, the diversification of research methods, the rigorous in research process, the mutual choice between students and professor, and the academic and administrative support. In addition, Dr. Shao Yanju, the Programme Coordinator of FED, briefly introduced the education background and research areas of each supervisor, and administrative procedures of Graduate Office, Registry, and Education Faculty. In addition, Faculty’s administrative colleagues also elaborated several relevant forms made by Graduate Office and Registry. In the final open discussion time, many Master and PhD students inquired about their personal learning and got corresponding answers from the teacher and administrative colleagues.

This Seminar is the second meeting of this academic year, in order to guide students’ thesis preparation work. The Faculty has continually tried the best to provide optimal academic and administrative supports for Master and PhD students. This year, after the graduation ceremony of the 2015 graduate students was just completed, FED immediately initiated the 2016 Graduate Thesis Seminar to keep and push the progress of 2016 graduate’s thesis research and writing work.
