From October 26 to 28, 2017, the “Annual Academic Symposium of Life Education Committee (hereinafter referred as the “Committee”) and the 1st International Forum on Life Education for Primary and Secondary School Principals” was held at Tsinghua University Primary School in Beijing. Over 200 primary and secondary school principals and well-known experts and scholars on life education from mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan have attended the forum. CityU Academic Registrar and Dean of Faculty of Education, Prof. Li Shuying was invited to attend the forum and delivered a keynote speech.

This event is host by the Special Committee, and co-organized by Tsinghua University Primary School, Children's Life and Moral Education Research Center of Capital Normal University and Huaxiaxingzhi (Beijing) Educational Technology Research Institute. The activities mainly include a theme report forum on life education, classroom observation and assessment, principals’ forum and life education research workshops.

Prof. Li Shuying made a keynote speech at the forum with the theme of “"Rediscovering the Experience of Life - the Educational Phenomenology in Life Education" and led to a heated discussion among participants on how to connect education to life. Prof. Li used vivid pictures and video clips to show the attendees that life education needs to pay more attention to human life experience and focus on how researchers should "capture others and self-experience", and inspired teachers to keep sensitive to the life experience, pay attention to the educational life experience of students and teachers in school classes, and excavate the meaning of life experience to build up a teacher's wisdom for the uniqueness of life classes and individual life.

At the forum, CityU Academic Registrar Prof. Li Shuying was appointed as the Consulting Expert for the Life Education Committee of Chinese Society for Taoxingzhi Studies.
