On March 14, 2019, it was great honor to invite Dr. Liu Hui, the Dean of the School of Education(Teacher College) of Guangzhou University to attend the CityU Education Forum. Dr. Liu shared on collaborative talent cultivation of advanced appliacation by higher education in the Greater China Bay Area.
First of all, Dr. Liu introduced taking examples by the advanced experience of the rise of “bay area economy” in the world, the Greater China Bay Area is a new practice of “China model” spanning on “one country, two systems and three tariffs”. During the entire lecture, Dr. Liu stressed that we need to strengthen the joint cultivation and talent flow of higher education talents in the bay area and establish a sharing mechanism. At the same time, we should establish the Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau university alliance, strengthen multi-dimensional cooperation and cross-regional university collaboration,construct the scientific research platform and teach mutual assisance and so on. Meanwhile, Dr. Liu viewed that if we want to play to the platform role of the greater bay area and build the talent highland of the Greater China Bay Area, we should cultivate talents to connect with the advanced manufacturing industry and rely on the major engineering projects of the advanced manufacturing industry. It aims to promote the deep cooperation between universities and enterprises and schools.
Professor Liu Hui’s explanation is clear and the process atmosphere is active, which is very popular among everyone. After the lecture, the postgraduate students of the School of Education actively asked questions, and the questions were closely related to the topic of the lectures. Professor Liu also gave detailed answers to these questions. After the end, I believe that all the speakers have a clearer understanding of the future development of higher education in the context of the Greater Bay Area.
