The School of Education successfully held its new student orientation on September 4, 2024. The event aimed to provide the Class of 2024 with essential academic information and an introduction to various activities. Through interactive communication, the orientation helped new students better adapt to their upcoming university life.
The orientation began with a warm welcome speech by Professor Liying Cheng, Dean of the School of Education. She stated that the School of Education is committed to providing students with high-quality educational resources and platforms, and she hopes that everyone will have a fulfilling and meaningful learning experience at City University of Macau.
Following the dean's speech, Associate Professor Jun Peng, Programme Coordinator of the doctoral programme, provided a detailed explanation of academic research opportunities and school activities, helping new students understand their future learning and research directions, and encouraging them to actively participate in the academic events organized by the school.
During the administrative affairs session, the administrative staff provided a thorough introduction to the school's management regulations and the usage of various campus services, ensuring a smooth transition into campus life. Subsequently, doctoral student representative Xiao Geyang and master's student representative Rong Gaoyu shared their learning experiences and insights with the freshmen. The senior students encouraged new students to value their time at university and actively explore their interests and professional fields.
The orientation concluded with an interactive Q&A session, where all participants engaged in lively discussions addressing the freshmen's queries. Faculty and students interacted and communicated effectively, answering questions related to course arrangements, academic support, and life adaptation.
