【Application Procudure】

[Required Documents]

Please submit all documents to the School by filling out the MicroSoft Form. The documents must include:

1. Proof of email correspondence showing the supervisor’s approval of the ethics review application;

2. An ethics review application form/statement that meets the requirements of the publishing institution (otherwise, please use the following form: 2627學年教育學院學術倫理審查申請表.docx);

3. The subject matter of the academic ethics review application, including the research proposal and research tools (e.g., research proposal, informed consent forms, questionnaire, etc);

4. Other relevant materials to assist in the review, such as information on the intended publication platform and submission deadlines.

*If the supervisor is a faculty/school member at this university, the original, hand-signed application form must also be submitted to the School of Education Office.

*All documents must be named as follows: filename-name-student ID (e.g., Ethics Review Application Form-Chen Da Wen-M123456789)

[Important Notes]

1.      Students intending to apply for SOE Academic Ethical Approval must commit to publishing the research project with City University of Macau listed as the affiliating institution;

2.      Students must pass their thesis proposal defense before submitting an application for academic ethics review for their thesis or project report;

3.      Students must have their approval from supervisor prior to the submission of SOE academic ethical approval;

4.      Applications for academic ethical approval should be submitted after the research methodology has been finalized, and data collection should not begin until the application has been approved. The review process takes approximately one month from the deadline; please plan your schedule accordingly;

5.      Unless otherwise specified, the approval letter will be issued in Chinese;

6.      The research project title stated in the approval letter will be based on the project title listed on the application form;

Ethics Review Application Information Session: The School will hold a relevant information session in mid- to late September 2026. Please stay tuned for announcements via email and the official WeChat account (online participation available).

*Please check your email for notifications during the document submission and revision periods. Applications submitted after the deadline will be deferred to the next review cycle.
