Degree conferment 

Students have to comply with the requirements below to be conferred a Doctor’s Degree:

1. Completed 5 required subjects and obtained 10 credits;

2. Completed an original Ph.D. dissertation, obtained 40 credits and passed the oral defense;

3. No outstanding balance on tuition fees;

4. Observed University regulations

Course introduction


Program Features

The Doctor in Education Program offers courses characteristic of highest academic standards, devoted to nurturing experts in teaching, research and educational administration for Macao and the Greater Bay Area. To this end, students are introduced to various research methods, immersed in research projects of emerging topics and exposed to trending issues in education, which synergistically prepares students to grow into high-end professionals. They will be potentially playing a leadership role in education and academic research in Macao and its neighboring regions.

 

Course Objectives

1. Cultivate and promote talents specialized in managing and leading educational institutions.

2. Develop and strengthen administrators in educational administration organizations

3. Train and develop researchers and managers in educational businesses.

 

Development Direction and Focus of Studies

1. To deepen the exploration of the curriculum and teaching in each level and establish theory.

2. To strengthen the theories of curriculum and teaching and enhance international perspectives and research capabilities.

3. To establish local and overseas academic research cooperation communities.

4. To strengthen localization and internationalization researches of the curriculum and teaching.

5. To explore and utilize information technology curriculum and teaching.

 

Learning Outcomes

1. Apply professional knowledge of curriculum and teaching for critique of literature and practice.

2. Integrate theory and practical knowledge of the curriculum and teaching into research and critique.

3. Explore issues in curriculum design, planning and teaching and publish academic papers.

4. Innovate and create new designs for researches in curriculum and teaching.
