Recently, the Faculty of Education, City University of Macau successfully organized 2016/2017 Thesis Progress Meeting for the new school year. Dean of Faculty of Education Dr. Li Shuying and the program coordinator Dr. Shao Yanju explored the first talk with all the FED Master and PhD student at the beginning of the new academic year. After a brief self-introduction, Dean Li reviewed the development of Faculty of Education, especially positively commenting on the construction of the high level international academic platform, with the great efforts of the founding dean professor Prof. Aliana Leong and the colleagues of FED. In the future, the Faculty will endeavor to gather more high quality supervisors, construct and accumulate more academic atmosphere, and organize diverse academic activities. Dean Li also shared his rich experience in academic thesis writing, and suggested that students should actively communicate with their supervisors, pay more attention to academic writing norms as well as the University requirements, and complete a high quality thesis which could be understood with layman words! Then, the programme coordinator Dr. ShaoYanju introduced the new supervisors about their academic background and research fields. In the following tea break, some students individually communicated with Dean Li and Dr. Shao, about the issue of thesis writing and supervisor selection. Finally, the meeting ended in the active discussion and open dialogue.
