Time files and now is reaching the new academic year. In order to let the new students have a detailed understanding about the Faculty, FED held an Orientation in Room T111 of Tai Fung Building on 31st August, 2017. Under the expectation of students, Dr. Sean Li, the Dean of FED as well as the Academic Registrar of the University, introduced the history of City University of Macau and the Education Faculty, especially the education philosophy, academic atmosphere, the academic and administrative team, and the affiliated research institutions, etc. After Dean’s welcome speech, the Programme Coordinator, Dr. Shao Yanju, introduced the many important curriculum points regarding the FED master and doctoral programmes, including curriculum objectives, curriculum structure, compulsory and elective courses, and also introduced some University administrative departments, such as Graduate Office, Registry Office, etc. Then, Dr. Lee Sungyi, the deputy director of The Institute of Macau Education Development, explained the institute’s research activities, and invited students to participate in it. Finally, Faculty invited FED senior students to share their learning experience in City University of Macau.

In the Q & A session, the new students inquired and asked questions in various aspects such as course subjects, admission procedures, thesis direction, etc., and received feedback from the Programme Coordinator and administrative staffs. The orientation ended with the conclusion presented by the Dean. FED always places the students at the highest priority. Apart from daily class schedule, Faculty will continue to organize various academic activities and keep better academic atmosphere. We hope all the new students can have wonderful learning experiences and memories in the next a few years.
