CityU Academic Division Project "Classroom Based Teachers’ Professional Development and Classroom Teaching Reform and Innovation" is the university project funded by Macau Foundation in the academic year of 2107/2018. The project aims to encourage teachers to participate in the classroom teaching innovation by using the variety of modern education technology. With the action research method, teachers will reflect upon their lessons by pre and post student interviews, pre and post tests and several rounds of teacher conferences, and enhance their teachers’ professional development. The project was divided into four groups. Some PhD students are invited as research assistants in data collection and logistic arrangements. Information Technology office will provide technical support when necessary. After the opening ceremony, the four groups started the preparations: selecting appropriate specific research questions, learning action research methods, and preparing for research facilities.

The project will end in mid-august 2018. The participated teachers will share their research findings and their professional development in the project dissemination meetings later on. By carrying out teaching research in the university, we hope to find an effective way, namely, classroom based model to enhance our university teachers’ professional development.
