Malaysian Buddhist Youth Association Visits School of Education, City University of Macau, to Foster Educational Exchange and Collaboration

On 1st April 2025, a delegation of over 20 members from the Malaysian Buddhist Youth Association (MBYA), coordinated by the Macau Doctoral Think Tank and the Macau Buddhist Youth Association, visited the School of Education at City University of Macau. The event aimed to promote educational cooperation between Malaysia and Macau, deepen mutual understanding of higher education developments, and explore future collaborative opportunities.

The delegation comprised MBYA national committee members, educators, Buddhist studies teachers, teacher trainees, and university students. The visit began with a warm welcome by Prof. Cheng Liying, Dean of the School of Education, followed by an exchange of commemorative gifts, symbolizing the friendly ties between the two regions in educational exchange.

Subsequently, Dr. Dai Yi, Master’s Program Coordinator of the School of Education, provided a detailed introduction to the School’s development history, curriculum design, and teaching features, showcasing its outstanding achievements in the field of education. The delegation expressed keen interest in the School’s teaching models and research accomplishments. Representatives from both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on the current state of higher education in Malaysia and Macau, sharing their respective educational philosophies and practical experiences. Potential future collaborations were explored, including academic exchanges, faculty and student visits, and joint research projects.

Dean Cheng remarked, “This exchange has not only enhanced mutual understanding but also laid a solid foundation for future cooperation. We look forward to strengthening ties with the Malaysian Buddhist Youth Association to jointly advance educational development in both regions.” The MBYA representatives expressed gratitude for the warm reception and shared their enthusiasm for future collaborations.

 

The visit concluded successfully, with both parties recognizing it as a highly productive exchange. They expressed eagerness to deepen cooperation in the future and contribute together to the progress of education.
