On December 5, 2025, the School of Education successfully held an academic lecture entitled “How to Plan and Conduct Research in Language Education?”. The lecture invited Prof. Antony John Kunnan as the keynote speaker, who delivered a systematic introduction to the design and implementation of research in language education.

During the lecture, Prof. Kunnan explored the critical importance of obtaining representative samples in research and systematically introduced effective strategies for addressing challenges in data collection and data analysis methods. He explained in detail various data collection tools, including questionnaire surveys, focus group discussions, and classroom observations, with a particular emphasis on strict adherence to research ethics throughout the research process. Prof. Kunnan emphasized that researchers must comply with ethical guidelines, ensure data authenticity and objectivity, take sufficient measures to protect participants’ privacy, and avoid any disclosure of identifiable information.

The lecture was informative and well-structured, and received an enthusiastic response from faculty and students. Participants stated that the lecture provided valuable insights and practical guidance for conducting in-depth research in language education and was highly beneficial.
