FED Ceremoniously Held the First Meeting of FQAC

In the afternoon of April 12, 2017, Faculty of Education (FED) ceremoniously held the first meeting of the Faculty Quality Assurance Committee (FQAC)!

 

This committee is mainly engaged in exploring curriculum construction, optimizing curriculum structure, enhancing classroom teaching, and improving the work of culturing graduate and doctoral students, to ensure that FED can provide high-quality Master and doctoral courses, so as to foster qualified and integrated graduates for Macau and nearby regions.

 

The FQAC is led by the Programme Coordinator, Dr SHAO Yanju. The members are constituted by experts and scholars in education field from Hong Kong, Macau, and Mainland China: Prof. LIU Baocun, Dean of the Institute of International and Comparative Education in Beijing Normal University; Dr. KAO Po Yuk, Director of the Excellent Teaching Development Center in the Faculty of Curriculum and Teaching in Hong Kong University of Education; Dr. WEI Bing , Programme Coordinator of Graduate Programmes from the Faculty of Education in Macau University; Prof. GUO Xiaoming , School Supervisor of Macao Education Bureau as well as Distinguished Professor of City University of Macau. At the same time, in order to know the students’ learning needs, FQAC particularly invited the Macau local and mainland students to attend the meeting.

 

Academic Registrar as well as Dean of FED, Dr. Li Shuying, expressed sincere thanks to the committee members and awarded honorary certificate to them. Dr. Shao convened this meeting. All the committee members explored a deep and enthusiastic discussion on the adjustment of current curriculum structure, justification of new curriculum, and improvement of graduate student regulations.

 

In the future, the committee would hold one or two annual working meetings, so as to hear students’ feedback and work with experts to improve the curriculum quality of FED. The first PQAC working meeting is of great significance at many aspects, such as cohering academic consensus, improving management mechanism, enhancing curriculum quality, to develop the FED curriculum construction and the fostering of Master and doctoral students.
